Founded by young Liberians who refused to accept poor education, unemployment, and weak community leadership as the final word, YARD-Liberia builds pathways for youth in Harbel and across Margibi County.
ORGANIZATION AT A GLANCE
Who We Are
"To ensure a healthy, strong and educated breed of young people from rural communities."
Youth Alliance for Rural Development in Liberia (YARD-Liberia) was founded on June 1, 2017, by a group of young Liberians. The organization was registered as a national non-governmental organization on June 19, 2019, with Registration No. 052286565.
Our incorporators are all youth with a shared passion for addressing poor education, unemployment among youth, and producing young community leaders. Since our founding, we've partnered with national and international organizations to address issues of concern to youth — from industrial development to civic advocacy and peacebuilding.
